The Grand Bazaar police have registered a case against a woman and some unknown persons in connection with the scuffle that took place at a protest organised by a few residents of the Aurobindo Ashram demanding action against the author of a book on Aurobindo.
Acting on a complaint lodged by one of the members of the Ashram Trust, Dilip Dutta, accusing the protesters of physically trying to prevent him from entering the office and trying to snatch files from his hand, the police registered case against unknown persons.
The police also registered a case against a woman based on a complaint lodged by Chandi Prasad Parida for racial abuse. A case has been registered against her under Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code. Meanwhile, the protest outside the Trust office continued for the third day on Tuesday.
